To learn more about our study site, we tagged along with our collaborators from the University of Calgary and rafted down the Bow River. It was a fun learning experience for all and a great way to appreciate the recreational benefits of our urban rivers.
The Arlos Research Group joined the University of Calgary research groups (Kelly Munkittrick and Fred Wrona) in exploring more about the Bow River. We passed by the outfall of the Bonny Brook WWTP and "tested" the water quality a few kilometers downstream. We were joined by the River Watch Institute of Alberta and they shared a bunch of cool things about the Bow. We saw several species of birds and truly enjoyed the recreational benefit of this river.
