Qianyang Wang
Postdoctoral Researcher, 2024 - present
Qianyang is a hydrologic and environmental engineer currently serving as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Arlos Lab at both the University of Alberta and the University of Waterloo. He completed his Ph.D. at Beijing Normal University, China, in 2024. Qianyang’s research interests cover various aspects of environmental sciences, including hydrologic and water quality modeling, flood and inundation modeling, and remote sensing. His recent work focuses on simulating polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs) in surface water at the basin scale and in fish tissue. Outside of his research, Qianyang enjoys playing soccer and cooking.
Daniela Pulgarin Zapata
Research Assistant, 2023 - present
Daniela completed her MSc in Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta under Dr. Arlos' supervision in Fall 2023 Her MSc research was focused on the partitioning of micropollutants in various environmental compartments (water, sediment, biota). Daniela started the Research Assistantship in 2023 supporting various research projects at the Arlos Research Group. Outside of the research life, Daniela enjoys making jewelry using delica beads.
